Philippines 2012, it is the greatest adventure so far this year, a mix of amazing scuba dive, bag packing and very good mood Thanks dudes (you know who you are) to make this dream real!

The main piece of this puzzle was the Life on board on the Borneo Explorer boot , we boarded in Anilao Port, and we navigated for differente dive places as Apo reef and Cuyo Island before to arrive to one of the most beautiful place for diving in the world “Tubbataha reef” where we were diving 4 or 5 times per day trying do not waste any minute, basically, I was sleeping, eating, diving, eating, diving, eating, diving, diving, drinking and sleeping nice scheedule for those 4 days

In our 9th day in Philippines we were disembarking in Puerto Princesa, and as we had to take our time before to take the fly to Manila, we took the oportunity to visit one of the new seven wonders of the world, the Underground River of Puerto Pricesa. And there is were our land travel began.

Next day we flew to Legazpi and we drove to Donsol to snorkel close to the biggest shark in the world, the whale shark. Nice activity, in three hours we were snorkeling with 5 different whale sharks. I advice all of you to do it if you are near to this area.

After to rest one nice evening in Donsol, we left any lux to fly to the north of Luzon, starting on Tuguegarao were we saw Callao cave and the night fly of the bats. Then, we follow our path to the south on Bus (uncountable hours on bus if I am honest) to the rice fields in Banaue and the capital of Luzon , Baguio, and its coloured market. And to end in Manila where we took our fly back to the reality.

Taking the advantage that we have a dive training swimming pool to 2 hours far from Luxembourg, I decided to spend last Saturday there. It was a nice experience but… hehe I am looking forward to diving in real sea Anyway, I left you here some pics:

For third year consecutive I have chosen for my dive holidays the red sea, this time the safari (8 days on a boat) was though the Brother island route. I had an underwater camera with me giving me the opportunity take picture to show you some of the wonderful things I saw there. I hope you enjoy seeing it.

At the moment, one of my best holidays this year, this time in Tenerife I did many of my favorites activities, specialy each dive I did there, thanks so much!!!

Nice weather to enjoy the time outside the water.

But where I really enjoyed was underwater.

Este año quería tomarme unas vacaciones que rompieran por completo mi rutina y que me ofreciera sensaciones y experiencias inolvidables, y dos días despues de acabar el viaje puedo afirmar que mis expectativas se han cumplido!!!

El paquete del viaje eran pasar 1 noche en Luxor, 7 noches en un safari por el mar rojo y para acabar 3 noches en el Cairo. Voy a poner unas fotitos resumen del viaje, no es una tarea fácil por que sólo con mi cámara y la acuática tenemos más de 1000 fotos

Este ha sido el grupo de valientes compañeros que han compartido conmigo este increíble viaje, gracias chicos por todo! sin vosotros este viaje no habría sido lo mismo. Socran!!!!

Aquí estoy con Currito, que puedo decir que él no sepa, thanks por todo, por ser una mami bajo el agua y un muy buen amigo fuera.

Y yo creo que ya no sabía ni lo que veía….

El escarabajo de la suerte, se dice que si das vueltas a su alrededor se cumplen tus deseos, umm….. no se yo si di suficientes vueltas

El día en Luxor fue increíble pero después de pasar todo el día bajo el sol viendo templos, tumbas, etc, tenía la sensación que llevaba ya varios días en Egipto , menos mal que ese día ya dormíamos en el barco!

Como fue mi primer vez en un barco tanto tiempo estaba preocupado por los típicos temas de mareos, etc. Pero afortunadamente todo salio a pedir de boca, estos días han sido lo mejores desde hace mucho mucho tiempo, os cuento como era un día estandar en el barco:

6:30- Nos despertaban a grito de BRIEFING!!!!!
7:00- Primer buceo
8:00- Desayuno (increíble, aunque había alguien que me racionalizaba los crepes ), con la tripa llena 2 horitas de siesta / tomar el sol
10:30- Brienfing y segundo buceo
12:30- Comida y siesta /tomar el sol
16:00- Brienfing y tercer buceo.
18:00- Merendar y descansar un poco más
20:00- Cuarto buceo (nocturna)
21:30- Cena, sobremesa y a dormir

Quien me diga que esto no es vida no es de este planeta

Este soy yo bajo el agua, se me reconoce no??

Y estos mis peces favoritos “pelotas enmascarado”, les cogí muchísimo cariño y cada vez que les veia me ponía muy contento haciendo un gesto imitando su movimiento a mi compi

Hablando de compis, todo el mundo que haya buceado sabe lo importante de tener un buen compañero bajo el agua, ya que es la persona que te va a poder ayudar en caso de tener un problema, también es la persona que te da seguridad en momentos de agobios, etc.

Patri, gracias por darme esa seguridad bajo el agua y ayudarme a mejorar buceo tras buceo, cada vez que cierro los ojos veo tu capucha amarilla, eres increíble no cambies nunca.

Si mi pez era el pelota, lo que más alegraba a mi compi era ver una tortuga, que pasada!.

Si bajo el agua veíamos paisajes de coral que nunca podre olvidar, los atardeceres en cubierta tampoco se quedaban cortos. :’(

Daniele, uno de los divemasters que nos guío en todas las inmersiones, aunque era italiano hablaba perfectamente español (entre otros) y nos adentro en el mundo del mar rojo en cada uno de sus briefings!!!! Eres el mejor Daniele!

Amr, el otro divemaster, era egipcio y no hablaba español, aunque no fue un problema para ser la mami del agua del amigo Jesús

Ramy, un miembro de la tripulación, se hizo querer por todos nosotros al tratarnos a cuerpo de rey. Hablando con él te das cuenta de los problemas que tiene el país y lo difícil que les resulta ir tirando. En fin, un tío genial!!

Ya en el Cairo, con la nostalgia del barco, nos sorprendíamos con las espectaculares pirámides, sigo pensando que esto no lo han podido construir los antiguo egipcios.

Bueno, que decir de los taxistas o el tráfico en general del Cairo, cualquiera que haya visitado esta ciudad estará de acuerdo conmigo que es una ciudad sin ley, sin semáforos, sin reglas, sin temer a la muerte, la gente conduce y cruza las calles con tal temeridad que a uno le hace pensar…..

Last December I dived in Cabo Palos, it was my first immersions after achieving my “open water diver” license. But things not always turn out well, and this time it didn’t

3 inmersions 3 disaster.:

Bajo del descargador (Cabo de Palos,Murcia,Spain)

There was very bad visibility and in the first moment one diver was missed and for that the group was split. I had a problem with my ballast because in this time I used a 15l bottle but the same ballast that my last time with a 18 l bottle, yeah 3 kg less of ballast, you can see in this graphs how I went up very fast in the end. And this is not all, I felt so seasickness when I came back to the ship

Cala Ronda (Cabo de Palos,Murcia,Spain)

This time was so funny, the immersion was very easy but my jacket didn’t work well and it was taking air all time I was always going up and down, up and down

Naranjito (Cabo de Palos,Murcia,Spain)

Naranjito is the name of a sunken ship, it should be an amazing immersion but I had very bad luck. The weather was very bad, blind and choppy sea. I began the immersion very seasickness, but it wasn’t the worst, I felt “nitrogen narcosis” if you want to know what the hell it is you can have a quick look at the wiki. Summing up, it was the worse immersion. Sure that my next time will be great!!!!! (I hope so)
